De Courcey Harvest and Ploughing August 2014

Encouraged by John & Mary O’Neill, members from Cork attended at Barrel’s Cross, Kinsale, on the Monday of the August week end 2014 to see and admire a collection of Ford agricultural tractors demonstrate the art of harvesting followed by ploughing, ranging from the primitive workings going back to the year 1917 right up to the super machines of 2014.

GROUP READY FOR DEPARTURE

We assembled at Bandon motors for the now accustomed Clarke hospitality and left in convoy to arrive on site by 1:00 pm, having taken the scenic coast route, fabled for West Cork.

 Arrival at the Farm yard

At first glance the field was a hive of activity. The pictures below speak for themselves.

The show was of interest to all generations.  John Hayes and Grandson Jack enjoyed the occasion.

There were line up of tractors of all sorts. There was a nice line up of  Model T Fords too.

PICTURES for your further enjoyment…

Our thanks to the De Courcey Vintage Club for inviting us and extending such a warm welcome. Thank you too to John and Mary.

We look forward to being with you next year.
