INISTIOGE
This was followed by coffee and ice creams before we headed onwards to the picturesque village of Inistioge and Woodstock Gardens. The gardens have been restored recently by Killkenny County Council and further features and planting are ongoing.  These gardens are well worth a visit and give a glimpse into what a beautiful place it must have been in days gone by. The restoration includes a rustic summer house and fountain, a yew walk. The arboretum is home to many fine specimen trees from Asia and South America including our own native examples.

GRAIGNAMANAGH

By this time we were ready for lunch and we drove back through Inistioge and on to Graiguenamanagh where we dined in style at the Duiske Inn and celebrated one day in advance the first birthday of Colt who was admitted as a fully paid up member of our Club.  We and strolled around in the warm sunshine and admired Duiske Abbey founded in 1204 AD.

Davie and Eileen Hore

THANK YOU
Huge thanks to organiser David Hore and his wife Eileen who put in such time and effort into a thoroughly wonderful weekend which was enjoyed by all.
Our thanks to the stewards who ensured we did not get lost and of course not forgetting John and Mary Hayes who operates an extremely efficient Tailend Charlie always at the ready in case of mishap or flat tyres!!
